Mixed Media Paintings
The collection of multimedia art is a documentation of large formatted journal/diary entries. Each piece is created from a subconscious perspective that taps into the imagery that surfaces from the day to day lifestyle of the artist Logan Boye. The symbolism of the pieces are inspired by Sunday morning cartoons, story time fables, historical paintings, and naturally occurring imagery that are represented in situations and scenes that are relevant to modern day dilemmas that Logan experiences. The works are to be viewed as a collection, allowing the viewer to see the continued themes that arise when viewing the collection as a whole. The process of image making is created from raw and rough techniques that help encapsulate the raw aspect of the artist lifestyle. The medias used in the artwork consist of acrylic paints, acrylic airbrush, oil pastels, colored pencils, spray paint, and house paint and are all created on canvases that were found during walks, adventures, or thrifted.
In unison
‘IN UNISON’ tells the story of two individuals connected to the same poison of life. While they go through the story in unison, the dynamic of the characters experience the poison drastically different.
Gentle women
‘Gentle Woman’ is a comedic approach to gender roles displayed throughout history. While traditionally men go to strip clubs for their own enjoyment, viewing women as objects, ‘Gentle Woman’ tells a different narrative from an experience at a strip club.
Humpty
‘Humpty’ relates to the fragility of adolescence and the relationship young adults have while transitioning into adulthood. Just like the Humpty Dumbty story, young adults are balancing the walk of being on the edge of destruction and the highlife of abuse.
Hey Diddle DIddle
‘Hey Diddle Diddle’ just like the nursery rhyme does not have a direct narrative, yet dives into the dream like mood of being a young child. Incorporating recognizable imagery mixed with abstract figures, the narrative is up to the viewer to decipher.
