Bitmap Monogram

The exploration of creating a bitmap monogram uses a modular grid of squares to create a font inspired by the 1910-1920 avant–garde designers. The letters LWB were used in the project for the designer's initials and to create various characters to explore with. Inspired by street artists who use paint rollers to create letter forms, the font chosen was a bold serif. This is shown with the exaggeration of serifs in the letterforms, connecting them as one font. To adapt the letter W, the strokes were redesigned by emphasizing a cross bar that acts as a thick stroke, and the bowls on the letter B were designed in two different sizes to help differentiate the two, the top being smaller than the bottom bowl.
